Fine dining in Dublin is trendy and always changing but Chapter One has been on top of all the recommendation lists for many years now. We tried it out to share our own perspective with you!

Chapter One is a benchmark for fine dining in Dublin, representing one of the best available options in town. It is an elegant environment with food prepared to a stunning level with top-class finishes. In other words, you cannot go wrong with this restaurant! Chef Ross Lewis, winner of countless awards and holder of a Michelin star since 2007, is able to deliver the best tasting dishes in ways many people never considered possible before.
Starter

Starters are so inviting that you may have a hard time choosing. For dinner, the options include terrine of guinea hen, herring and wood pigeon and foie gras terrine. The herring was extremely tasty and the presentation was sublime. They sometimes give the option for organic salmon or ravioli, which are equally sublime. Wood pigeon and foie gras terrine were two generously-sized pink triangles almost an inch thick and served with fermented and pickled cherries to further lift the flavour.
Main courses

The success of Chapter One is mainly due to its extraordinary main courses. The menu presents many interesting options, all equally delicious. Out of the dishes we tried, the venison is - in our opinion - their best dish, and a must try if you are coming to Ireland. The other options included fillet of Irish beef and sea bass. The delicate flavorful sea bass with sweet cream was also charming. All mains look delicious, regardless of what you choose, and we found them to be cooked to perfection by the famous Chef Ross Lewis. The taste is sensational and the portions are good size with an absolutely outstanding service.
Dessert

Desserts are so beautiful and elegant that you would want to have them all! Chocolate mousse and apple and pear tarte tatin are such fabulous choices! Chapter One “Mont Blanc” is the house specialty, however. The cheese selection available is also of high-class quality. All in all, desserts are a real house delight and all equally recommended! Everything was delicious, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented.
The restaurant

Chapter One is one of Dublin's leading restaurants and winner of numerous awards for both food and service. The front of house team is very warm and friendly while delivering a high level of efficiency and professionalism. The restaurant holds one Michelin star for a good reason; we were expecting a great meal and the restaurant delivered in full force. The food, plating and service are superior and a table side visit by the owner was a nice touch. The Sommelier was most informative and knew everything, answering any queries we asked them.
Our Verdict
Chapter One represents a splendid option for anybody seeking the best dining experience for affordable prices in Dublin. For the best experience, opt for the chef table tasting - a customized chef menu that allows you to try their best dishes. Between the top-notch food and perfect service quality, Chapter One is definitely worth a visit!
